SF Giant pitcher gives back money to his team because of a mistake in his contract

I found this article to be a positive story about how Jeremy Affeldt, relief pitcher for the San Francisco Giants gave back $500,000 to his ball club when he noticed a clerical error in his contract.  Affeldt stated that although he legally could have kept the money, that he decided to give it back because he felt it to be the right thing to do.  Stories like this don’t usually get that much publicity because the media is always looking for a controversial or negative story that will spark the interest of the fans and general public.  Stories about college athletes taking illegal gifts from coaches/recruiters or news about famous professional athletes being arrested seem to usually take precedent over these kinds of stories.  Also, fans figure that these athletes are so overpaid anyway that it’s hard to really care about times like this when athletes actually serve as being model citizens.
