Are Athletes Overpaid?

In my opinion I feel that today's athletes are highly overpaid. Why are they making so much money? I know that their job is to play whatever sport they do, but why do some athletes feel the need for greed. Many athletes will not sign to a team if they do not make a certain amount. I understand that athletes need to make enough to support themselves and their family but they don’t need an excess of millions of dollars that they will probably spend on frivolous stuff. If we take a look at Kobe Bryant his average income a year is $25.2 million. Why does he need all that money, what is the purpose of such a high amount? The money we spend to see them which ultimately goes to their salary which could be funding schools, helping local communities, and much more that can benifit others. Salaries should be reevaluated.
